Shireen Hormozdi

Shireen Hormozdi began her career in Atlanta as an attorney with a national consumer law firm. During her first year in practice, she tried a case in federal court before Hon. Beverly B. Martin in the Northern District of Georgia and successfully appealed a case before the Georgia Court of Appeals. She left the firm for a federal judicial clerkship with the Hon. E. Clayton Scofield, III in the Northern District of Georgia.

After she completed her clerkship, Ms. Hormozdi worked for a large law firm in Florida, defending Fortune 500 companies against personal injury, products liability and premise liability cases. Thereafter, she joined the Fulton County District Attorney’s Office in the Atlanta Judicial Circuit where she was assigned to their Special Victims Unit, focusing on crimes against women and children. While at the District Attorney’s Office, Ms. Hormozdi successfully prosecuted numerous felony cases, including over 30 jury trials. She was also made the Community Prosecutor for Atlanta Police Zone 3, which covers a large area of Southeast Atlanta. While a Community Prosecutor, Ms. Hormozdi worked closely with the Atlanta Police Department, the Atlanta City Council and community leaders to combat criminal activity in the neighborhoods comprising Zone 3. Ms. Hormozdi was also named Attorney of the Year for the Non-Complex Trial Division which hears approximately 70% of the felony cases in Fulton County and includes all thefts less than $100,000, all drug cases, burglaries and most other non-violent felony offenses.

Ms. Hormozdi is licensed to practice law in the state and federal courts located in Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Mississippi, New York and North Carolina. She is also admitted to the federal courts in Arkansas and the Eastern and Western Districts of Tennessee. Ms. Hormozdi returned to private practice in 2011 and serves as Lead and Local Counsel for cases involving the violation of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, Telephone Consumer Protection Act, and the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act.

Shireen Hormozdi is the managing attorney of the Hormozdi Law Firm, LLC located in Norcross, Georgia and focuses her Georgia practice on personal injury matters. She is also the founder of Trial Partners, LLC, a trial consulting firm, and Legal Applications, LLC, a company dedicated to developing mobile applications for legal professionals. In 2014, Ms. Hormozdi launched The Georgia Code: Mobile Edition, a mobile application containing the Georgia Civil Practice Act (Civil), Georgia code on substantive crimes (Criminal) and the Georgia evidence code (Evidence).

Education and Training

Ms. Hormozdi received her Juris Doctor with honors from the University of Florida College of Law in 2003 and her undergraduate degree with honors from the George Washington University in 2000. While in law school, she was Editor-in-Chief of the Florida Journal of International Law, Managing Editor of the Journal of Law and Public Policy and a summer law clerk for the Department of Defense at the Pentagon. While in college, Ms. Hormozdi was a White House Intern for President Bill Clinton and a Legislative Intern for House Member and former-CIA Director Porter Goss.

Charles Clapp - Of Counsel

The Norcross Law Firm works with Charles Clapp, founder of CMC Law, in bankruptcy matters. Mr. Clapp graduated from University of Missouri in 2002. He received a Governor’s Scholarship at Florida Coastal School of Law and obtained his law degree in 2005. Mr. Clapp’s career began as an Atlanta trial lawyer, protecting the rights of indigent clients. In 2008, he concentrated his practice on consumer bankruptcy, where he worked as lead attorney for one of Atlanta’s largest consumer bankruptcy firms. Over his career, Mr. Clapp has guided thousands through the stress of debt to a financial fresh start. He has helped people and families attain financial peace of mind not just through bankruptcy, but also through a successful trial practice, suing hundreds of creditors and banks. Together with the Hormozdi Law Firm, LLC, Mr. Clapp is happy to serve your bankrupcy needs.

Mr. Clapp is a frequent lecturer on the bankruptcy law circuit, actively attends bankruptcy seminars, and has trained many lawyers in consumer bankruptcy. He is also an experienced civil litigator who had been lead counsel in hundreds of lawsuits in Georgia state and federal courts, representing both plaintiffs and defendants. Mr. Clapp was lead attorney in several cases of first impression in the Northern District of Georgia.

E. Scott Fortas - Of Counsel

The Norcross Law Firm works with E. Scott Fortas on consumer litigation matters. Mr. Fortas has been practicing consumer law in the state of Georgia since 1999, founding the Fortas Law Group in 2006 to provide additional legal assistance to those in need of traffic and criminal defense. Mr. Fortas has successfully litigated and settled hundreds of criminal cases for Georgia consumers as well as lemon law and auto fraud claims against automobile manufacturers and dealerships in courts across the state of Georgia. Mr. Fortas managed the Georgia division of a consumer law firm from 1999-2005 prior to forming The Fortas Law Group, a criminal defense, lemon law and auto fraud firm in Atlanta, Georgia. He is a member in good standing of the Georgia Bar and has been admitted to practice before the Georgia Court of Appeals. Attorney Fortas believes that each client and case is unique and thus deserving of the highest level of commitment towards an equitable outcome. An example of Mr. Fortas and Ms. Hormozdi's success together, in 2013 they successfully obtained a jury verdict against a car dealership in Gwinnett County for a fraudultent car sale for over 49K and the subject vehicle was sold for just over 4K. Mr. Fortas and Ms. Hormozdi are happy to represent Georgia consumers together.
