About Bowman Law Firm
A Person First, a Client Second, and Never a File Number
Bowman Law Firm is an estate planning, trust, and elder law firm in Norcross, Georgia, founded by attorney Shireen Hormozdi Bowman on May 1, 2012. The firm was built on a simple idea that still guides every meeting, every phone call, and every document we prepare: the people who walk through our door are families with real worries, not cases to be processed. Our clients come to us to protect a home, provide for their children, prepare for a parent’s care, or make sure the people they love are not left guessing. We take that trust seriously.
From our office on Indian Trail Lilburn Road, we work with families across Gwinnett County and the greater Atlanta area, and our staff speaks English, Spanish, and Vietnamese. For many of our clients, sitting down with an attorney in their own language is the first time the law has felt understandable rather than intimidating.
How the Firm Began
Shireen did not start her career in estate planning. She began in 2003 as a trial attorney with a national consumer law firm in Atlanta, and in her first year of practice she tried a case in federal court and won an appeal before the Georgia Court of Appeals. She then served as a federal law clerk in the Northern District of Georgia, defended Fortune 500 companies for a large Florida firm, and later joined the Fulton County District Attorney’s Office, where she served in the Special Victims Unit, was named Attorney of the Year for her division, and first-chaired more than 20 jury trials.
Those years taught her how legal documents are tested when it matters most: in front of judges, opposing lawyers, banks, and institutions that look for any reason to say no. When she opened her own firm in Norcross, she brought that perspective to estate planning. A will, a trust, or a power of attorney is only as good as its ability to hold up when a family needs it, and every plan the firm prepares is drafted with that test in mind.
What We Do
Bowman Law Firm focuses on helping families plan ahead. Our work centers on revocable living trusts and other trust-based plans that keep families in control and out of unnecessary court proceedings, along with the documents that support them:
- Trusts: revocable, irrevocable, and specialized trusts for children, beneficiaries with special needs, life insurance, and long-term care planning
- Wills: including pour-over wills and guardian nominations for minor children
- Powers of attorney and advance directives: so the right people can manage your finances and medical decisions if you cannot
- Elder law and Medicaid planning: helping seniors and their families prepare for the cost of long-term care
- Asset protection: structuring property and businesses so one problem does not put everything at risk
- Planning for immigrant and mixed-status families: trusts and powers of attorney that protect a home and children if a parent cannot be present
How We Work With You
We keep the process straightforward. It begins with a free discovery call so we can learn what you need. From there, an initial consultation to design your plan costs $100, and during that meeting we talk through who depends on you, what you own, and what worries you most. Once the plan is drafted, we meet in person for the signing, where every document is explained before you put pen to paper. Virtual consultations are available for clients who cannot easily come to the office or whose family members live in other cities.
Shireen puts it simply: “My clients are family. Even after your case is closed, you can call me any time. It is my pleasure and honor to help solve problems and make my clients’ lives better.”
Beyond the Office
Shireen’s commitment to people extends past her own clients. She sponsors a summer internship each year for students working in international human rights and anti-human trafficking, causes that have been close to her heart since her days as Editor-in-Chief of the Florida Journal of International Law. She also founded Trial Partners, LLC, a consulting company that helps solo practitioners and small firms prepare for trial. At home, she is a wife and the mother of two sons, Matthew and Henry, and she understands firsthand why parents want to know their children will be protected no matter what.
Education and Bar Admissions
Shireen earned her Juris Doctor cum laude from the University of Florida Levin College of Law in 2003 and her undergraduate degree cum laude from The George Washington University in 2000. During law school, she clerked at the Pentagon for the Department of Defense, and as an undergraduate she interned at the White House and in the U.S. House of Representatives. She is admitted to practice in Georgia, Florida, Kentucky, Mississippi, New York, and North Carolina. You can read more in Shireen’s full biography.

How much does it cost to get started?
The first discovery call is free. The initial consultation to design your plan is $100.
Do I need a trust, or is a will enough?
It depends on your family and what you own. Many families benefit from a trust-based plan that avoids court and works during life as well as after death, but some are well served by a will and supporting documents. We help you decide, and you can learn more about how wills fit into a plan.
Can non-citizens create an estate plan with your firm?
Yes. Georgia law does not require citizenship to create a will, trust, or power of attorney, and we work with families of every status.
